"Biodiversity is the variety of
life and its processes. It includes the variety of living organisms,
the genetic differences among them, the communities and ecosystems
in which they occur, and the ecological and evolutionary processes
that keep them functioning, yet ever changing and adapting."
Think about where you live and
what makes your community special? Is it your main street or town
green surrounded by historic buildings, your community’s farmland
or its recreational areas or waterbodies? Maybe it's the small
retail shops in downtown, the walking path along the greenway or the
old factory that was refurbished into beautiful condominiums that
reminds you of your community's history. Whatever it is, if it's
important to you, it's important to identify and ensure it remains
in tact in the future.
