Institutional Capacity
Various stakeholder groups need to be strengthened in order to
understand the climate change issues and its implications. These are :
- The Climate Change Centres at
Development Alternatives and Confederation of Indian Industries to
increase awareness among various stakeholders and facilitate
partnership between Indian and US industry on co-operation in clean
energy, energy efficiency, and decentralised energy projects
- The National Academy of
Administration, Government of India, on issues related to
sustainable energy management and its linkages with GHG emissions
reductions etc.
- The Indian financial sector, to
appraise GHG emissions reduction projects and develop financial and
risk appraisal tools
- The municipal officials to be trained
on advanced technologies of solid waste management and energy
generation from solid waste
