| Development Alternatives is a
not-for-profit organisation which designs and promotes better
approaches for sustainable development. The Communication Unit of
Development Alternatives is involved in designing, producing and
disseminating communication packages for generating mass awareness
on sustainable development issues. |

Our video distribution centre has an extensive
collection of high quality TV and video programmes on environment
and development issues. The bulk of these films have been given to
us by Television Trust for the Environment (TVE) for distribution in
India. In addition, we have a number of video programmes produced in
India, including films produced by Development Alternatives. These
films are available to NGOs, educational institutions and other
organisations in India for a nominal price to cover our costs. |
| Besides generating awareness, we hope
this effort will create a better understanding of key environmental
issues among the public and help bring about a change in public
attitudes. These films not only highlight the ‘global
environmental crises’, but also bring to the fore the pioneering
work and experiments that our counterparts in various countries have
carried out to face the environmental challenge. They effectively
reinforce the growing realisation that individuals and organisations
have a crucial role to play in bringing about change. |
