Services offered :

To achieve the overall objectives of creating large numbers of Sustainable Livelihoods, a large variety of customized technology packages and business packages are continuously developed and shared. The group offers the following services in order to cope with the diversity of information, clients and business groups.

1. ECO-Building Advisory services for enlarging the client base and business generation are  provided to form networks with national and international agencies. The activities are spread over Delhi, Jhansi and numerous other  field sites. This program area has strong synergistic links with TARA, TBRT and the TNK’s for mass dissemination of building material and technologies. The services provided are

SUTRA (Selection and Upgradation of Technologies in Rural Areas) is a special Consultancy service offered. The main objective of SUTRA is designed to provide design and technical support to grassroots organizations dealing with shelter and habitat issues in their regions. The SUTRA services available at a nominal fee for our NGO partners and non-profit basis for other organizations according to the services required.

Information and knowledge services provide a comprehensive range of expertise, experience knowledge and skills to support new initiatives in the building construction sector. The Building Advisory Services & Information Network (basin) works through "Building Partnerships" with clients. It provides individual specialized support reinforced with the comprehensive view that comes from the long and diverse experience of partner organizations in developing countries. basin was established n 1988 to provide information and advice on sustainable building technology and to create links with know-how resources in the world for all those in need of relevant information. basin is a network of seven organizations: GATE; Germany, ITDG; United Kingdom, SKAT; Switzerland, CRATerre; France, Shelter Forum; Kenya, CEVE; Argentina and Development Alternatives; India.

                R&R (Reconstruction and Rehabilitation) The primary focus of the services in this field 

                have been in the form of resettlement (reconstruction) and Rehabilitation (creation of 

                livelihoods) packages. The R&R activities initiated after the Uttar Kashi earthquake in 1993 

                and followed with the Latur  and Jabalpur earthquakes have built in capacities and 

                strength with the group to provide holistic response packages. Besides addressing 

                R&R needs post natural disasters, the group also develops customized response           

                packages for Resettlement and Rehabilitation of communities due to development  

                projects such as mining and thermal energy projects.

2. Market and Development assistance is provide to formulate and operationalise the business plans for a franchising system of different scales.

3. Machine and Product design service provides responsive solutions to a large market of projects and units, with support to building centers and other organizations.

4. Technology Development and Consultancy services provide continuous support for improving the quality of products and technologies.

5. Vertical Shaft Brick Kiln (VSBK) services include technology introduction, extruder services, testing services and R&D services.

The pool of services provides focus on strengthening and building capacity that provides products and technologies for various programs and the TARA Nirman Kendra's.
