Development Alternatives has won top standing in four major categories according to the Global Go To Think Tanks Rankings report issued by the University of Pennsylvania’s International Relations Program on January 19, 2012.
DA ranked among the world’s top 50 within a pool of 6,545 participating think tanks and civil society organisations from 182 countries.
Top 30: external relations/ public engagement (rank: 21)
Top 30: transparency and good governance (rank: 22)
Top 30: communication through print and electronic media (rank: 30)
Top 50: impact on global public policy (rank: 44)
DA is the only Indian think tank to have achieved placement within the above categories: an impressive feat, given the fact that India has the third-largest number of think tanks (292) among all countries across the globe.
Furthermore, our organisation has been distinguished alongside preeminent institutions such as Brookings, International Crisis Group and IISS.
According to the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program report, the rankings were completed with the participation of
793 expert panelists for all the regional and functional research categories
150 journalists and scholars with expertise spanning politics, think tanks, and civil society representatives
