The environment is dynamic, interdependent and if cared for, as
resilient as it is vulnerable. The interactions between people and
the environment are highly complex which calls for intervention
through Environmental Management Systems. Planning & management
of the development processes must, therefore be adaptive and based
on a well informed assessment of each specific situation, so that
the benefits do indeed reach the intended beneficiaries.
Sustainable livelihood’s allow for a "rational" use of
natural resources also ensuring improvement in quality of life
through generating employment.
