Harbingers of Change

Guddi Kushwaha is a resident of Azadpura and a regular listener of Radio Bundelkhand, especially the Shubh Kal programme. She is a big fan of Bahiron Bhouji. She listens to Bhouji very carefully and tries to adopt all her tips. In one of Bhouji’s skits, women were advised to grow a kitchen garden in their homes and use waste water for the garden. Guddi not only became the Shubh Kal Vijeta of this programme by giving the correct answers, but also following Bhouji’s instructions planted a kitchen garden in her courtyard. After some time when she started getting fresh vegetables from her kitchen garden, she became an inspiration to many of her villagers.

Vikesh Prajapati of Bangua is a regular listener of Radio Bundelkhand’s Shubh Kal programme. If for any reason he misses out the evening programme, he makes it a point to listen to the repeat telecast in the morning. In this programme, he heard about Amrit Mitti and called Radio Bundelkhand for more information about it. Vikesh was already growing a kitchen garden at his home where he now started using Amrit Mitti and Amrit Jal. This helped him in getting better vegetables and fruits. His family was a big help as Vikesh is blind and for him, doing all this all alone was not easy. Now, he has become a hero of his area. He still listens to the radio with the same passion and regularity and provides his valuable suggestion on various programmes from time to time. q
