Jobs We Create

The Work 4 Progress (W4P) program was born out of the need for a multi-faceted and innovative approach for creating systemic solutions that foster entrepreneurship – not only creating enterprises in the tens of thousands but more importantly, enabling them to 'create' jobs – jobs 'we' want.

New approaches for entrepreneurship

The Work 4 Progress (W4P) program of "la Caixa" Banking Foundation aims to accelerate the generation of meaningful and dignified employment through enterprise development in Peru, Mozambique and India. W4P practices innovation that is social in purpose, systemic in nature and inclusive by design.

Enterprise Compendium

This compendium shares information on setting up over 20 types of enterprises which have been tested by Development Alternatives as part of the Work 4 Progress India program. It accelerates the generation of meaningful and dignified employment through enterprise development.

Be the Change

The flagship event of Jobs We Want, of la Caixa Foundation and Development Alternatives was covered by one of the prominent media agency The Pioneer. The article explored how the community-centric program has made a palpable difference in geographies like Mirzapur and Bundelkhand by empowering women and youth.

Clean Technology Trends and Needs

Sustainable development requires narrowing the current employment gap and meeting the aspirations and job expectations of an increasing workforce. India will need to add 15 million new jobs annually for the next decade. Micro-enterprises can play an instrumental role in addressing this challenge as they create local jobs in large numbers.

Micromovements of Change

Work 4 Progress (W4P) India aims to create a culture of entrepreneurship in regions of Bundelkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. This mini-documentary is about a micro movement that is building a robust support system for accelerating the development of profitable enterprises. It started with the setting up of a regional platform for converging resources and connecting small businesses with service providers such as financial institutions, market aggregators and training institutions.
