In
Budpura village of Jhansi district, 10 people who had low-income levels
and did not have any land holdings were chosen to implement a project on
goat rearing to enhance their livelihoods. In this NABARD supported
project, a sum of INR 25000 was given for goat rearing to each person
and the beneficiaries contributed about INR 15000 to 20000 themselves.
On an average, income of these rural folk has increased substantially
and now become INR 45000 to 55000 annually.
