Our Life - The Water
Who wasted what?
To save the water we never thought,
Now also the time is there,
To conserve water, it is here
Don’t let the taps drift
As water can be used to drink sip by sip
Do not waste water in any way
As it can be used to shower our plants
on a bright Sunday
Don’t throw garbage in Rivers
As it will become as dirty as a sewer
Now let us pledge together
By not wasting water rather
Conserve our life – THE WATER

Pollution
Pollution, Oh! Pollution!
What is its solution?
I often think about it and
Wonder about it.
When we sweep,
And blow dust in Air
The Air we breathe,
Is spoilt;
Do you think it is fair?
The water from the river,
Is often flooded in rain
Getting mixed with water
Coming from the drain
The vehicles with blaring horns,
Make noise from dusk to dawn
Make us deaf and irritable
And with a headache
We frown.
This is what we call pollution!!
In its various forms:-
Cleaning air, boiling water
And reducing noise
Is the reform....!

DEATH OF A TREE
How can you smile
on the death of a tree?
it is a grave matter
between you and me
It spells doom
for our planet Earth
as Man devastates
and destroys greenery
how can you smile
on the death of a tree?
The monster axe
and the dubious saws
break all the nature’s laws
the topsoil gets eroded
as we all can see
how can you smile
on the death of a tree?
On branches of tree tops
spread beautifully
Birds among colourful
flowers sing so merrily
and the monkeys
who jump from branches
like a young naughty brat
all these are on the verge
of losing their habitat
species are running homeless
can’t you see
then how can you smile
on the death of a tree?
The moment you cut a tree
it is the glaring truth
that you cut the oxygen -
the elixir of life
or the very air we breathe
and you better believe me
then how can you ever smile
on the death of a tree?

I
wonder why
I wonder why the grass is green,
And why the wind is never seen?
Who taught the birds to build a nest,
And told the trees to take a rest?
O, when the moon is not quite round,
Where can the missing bit be found?
Who lights the star when they blow out,
And makes the lightening flash about?
Who paints the rain in the sky,
And the fully clouds so high?
Why is it now, do you suppose,
That dad won’t tell me, if he knows?

Before joining the CLEAN-Jhansi
programme, I hardly did anything for preserving the planet. My
family used to throw out all our kitchen waste, but now we use
it to make valuable manure for our garden. Also, I used to
burst a lot of crackers on Diwali, but now I have not only
reduced the burning of crackers but also suggested my
neighbours to reduce. This Holi festival too, I used only
natural colours and did not allow anybody in my family to use
chemical colours.

Tree
Blessing
Grandmother often said:
"Blessed is the house upon the walls
The shade of an old tree safely falls.
We had no tree near our cottage
So, I planted one last spring.
It’s six months old now,
And growing fast,
In six year’s time there’ll be a
blessing
