SPIRITUAL HEALING AT THE UNCED

K.R. International travel, are American Quakers involved in an alternative credit programme for poor people and environmental education in Rio de Janeiro. They are organising workshop/ tours on Brazilian spiritual healing and culture on the following dates :

May 15 to May 28, 1992
June 19 to July 3, 1992
July 16 to July 30, 1992

During this workshop, participants will be taught about passe de cura, particularly within the Kardec doctrine, through lectures demonstrations and discussions. Visits to spiritual healing clinics will be organized, where classes will be held on mediumship, history and development of passe de cura in Brazil along with the technique of hands-on and long distance healing, learning how it all fits in the Brazilian culture. There will be opportunities to talk to Brazilian healers and to watch the healing process.

There will be guided tours to Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer statue), sugar loaf, Jardin Botanico, and other points of interest in the surrounding mountains where you will get the chance to work in a rainforest.

SOCIETY FOR HUMAN ECOLOGY CROSSING BOUNDARIES
"
Human Ecology : Crossing Boundaries, "the Sixth Meeting of the Society for Human Ecology will be held form October 2-4, 1992 in Snowbird, Utah. The general theme of the meeting emphasizes the role of human ecology in spanning boundaries between traditional disciplines, theory and practice, individuals and society and the social, biological and physical environments.

Special themes include : Arts and humanities (education, literature, philosophical foundations, visual and performing arts), Global Problems (agriculture, global environmental change, population, sustainable development), Human Ecology, Wellness and Interdisciplinary Dialogue and Integration (anthropology, biological ecology, economics, geography, history, psychology, common property resources, impact assessment, resource conservation, valuation) and Theoretical Issues (altruism, critical theory, cultural evolution, ecology and human ecology, feminist theory). The meeting will accommodate a variety of forms of participation, including paper presentations, poster sessions, workshops and round table discussions. the deadline for submission is April 1, 1992, but submissions received after that date may also be considered.
