Development Alternatives organised a two-day seminar on Clean
Development Mechanism (CDM) on 22nd and
23rd September,
2005, in Jaipur. The aim of the seminar was to spread awareness
among various stakeholders about the modalities and procedures of
CDM. Apart from project developers, the seminar saw representation
from both the government and the industry. Mr. Gajendra Singh,
Minister of State for Energy was the chief guest for the occasion.
He encouraged the participants to take advantage of CDM which,
besides reducing greenhouses gas emissions causing global warming ,
also provides monetary benefits to the project developers and helps
in sustainable development of the country. The seminar was organised
